Repairs of Rolls, Piston Rods, and Machine Parts

We provide mobile on-site service directly at your production facility or plant. We restore the working precision of rolls and hydraulic piston rods using cold micro-welding and selective electroplating technologies – with zero thermal effect on the material and minimal downtime.

  • Over 18 years of personal industry experience – We thoroughly understand the repair challenges of damaged printing, papermaking, calender rolls, and hydraulic piston rods.
  • Mobile service directly on the machine – We repair locally without the need for complex and costly disassembly.
  • Zero risk of surface finish damage – Our methods do not heat the surrounding metal and will not damage the functional chrome layer in any way.

Sample of Our Work

Cold Micro-Welding Repairs

  • Technology designed to repair relatively rough and deep damage to rolls and piston rods, such as pitting, dents, gouges, scratches—in short, any deeper mechanical damage.
  • Optionally used to repair imperfections during the manufacturing of new components, particularly castings and casting flaws.
  • Micro-welding is a gentle and precise spot welding process that creates a metallic bond. There is no thermal effect on the surrounding area of the repaired material. It causes no damage or alteration to the chrome layer of the rolls, and their structural strength remains unchanged.

Filler Material

  • Special alloy foils with a thickness of 0.1 mm
  • Possibility of layering as needed
  • Hardness range of 35–48 HRC

We combine this micro-welding technology with localized metal deposition, also known as selective plating.

Selective Electroplating Repairs

  • Repairs of machine parts, molds, rolls, hydraulic piston rods, and plated surface rolls (hard chrome, nickel, etc.).
  • Capability to deposit precise layer thicknesses without the need for subsequent machining.
  • Corrosion protection.
  • Wear resistance / protection.
  • The technology utilizes localized electrochemical metal deposition via brush plating. We can deposit required layers either as filler (e.g., copper, bronze) or top coatings, most commonly cobalt or nickel. After repair, the surface is provided with a protective top layer that is corrosion and wear-resistant.

Filler / Coating Material

  • Filler materials – e.g., copper, bronze
  • Top coating materials – nickel, cobalt, special nickel alloys
  • Top coating hardness up to 54 HRC

We have extensive experience and over 18 years of practical expertise in repairing various machine parts, flexographic and offset rolls, as well as hydraulic piston rods.
